AA Thought for the Day

March 10, 2007

Humility

Humility keeps my ego in check
and allows me to acknowledge that I can be wrong
without feeling inferior.
Almost all of my conflicts with others
can be traced to a failure to exercise humility.
So I have learned to keep quiet when I disagree
and to give others freedom to express opinions
widely different from my own --
without giving in to the urge to enlighten them.
I am grateful for all the voices of AA.
