Turning Point

Remember that we deal with alcohol -- cunning, baffling, powerful!
Without help it is too much for us.
But there is One who has all power -- that One is God.
May you find Him now!
Half measures availed us nothing. We stood at the turning point.
We asked His protection and care with complete abandon.

My name is Kenny, and I'm an alcoholic.

I was thinking last night of the saying we often hear at meetings: "We stood at the turning point." I had nowhere else to go! I'd run out of options. I couldn't drink and couldn't not drink. That's a messed up place to be! Life was hard, and I thought this would be also. This program is so simple it's hard. What it took for me is willingness. I needed to be willing to go to any lengths to get sober. I wanted to be sober more than I wanted to be drunk. Through this awesome program and good people I have found what I have been looking for and chasing all my life . peace of mind! I could never find in alcohol what I found in AA. What a rush! Thanks for my sobriety. I'm going to do what I did my first day in AA . stay right here!
