Attitudes

I had attitudes mixed up with emotions,
and those emotions functioned like
unlabeled warning lights on a dashboard,
flickering on and off, bugging me
and providing little in the way of useful information.
These warning lights eventually received labels,
although some are still defective and go on and off
for no apparent reason.
Someone once told me that we cannot control
our emotions, but we can control our attitudes.
When we do, our feelings tend to follow.
