If you persist, remarkable things will happen.
When we look back,
we realize the things that came to us
when we put ourselves in God's hands
were better than anything we could have planned.
Don't give up before the miracle happens.
K I S S = Keep It Simple; Surrender.
My name is Scott, and I'm an alcoholic.
I have been around AA for 31 years, but I am sober only 3 years and 4 months. I took me 28 years to get this message. In that 28 years, I did a lot of "yets" and a lot of "agains." The result was nil until I let go absolutely ... surrender, total surrender, didn't happen until I was in a locked ward. That's where my Higher Power found me. And I thank Him every day for the difference in my life. But I've got to meet Him halfway. I prayed for years and nothing happened, but when I started listening for an answer, I began to get well. If you ask for direction in your life, then don't wait for an answer ... how are you going to know what He wants? Then I discovered gratitude. For me, it isn't just a state of heart and mind; it's an action too. If I'm grateful, it isn't enough just to say it, I've got to show it too. I also discovered that I can determine the outcome of any given situation in my day simply by how I choose to react to it ... the power of choice. If I react badly or negatively, the outcome will mirror that. If I react positively, then the outcome will be the same. I'll finish with the story of the Native American talking to his granddaughter about the two warring dogs in his soul. One dog was filled with hate and fear, the other was full of love and peace. His granddaughter asked, "Grandfather, which dog wins?" He replied, "The one I feed." Want to have a good day people? Feed the right dog and make sure the other one goes hungry. Thank you for listening!
