Promises

One of the most important things AA has given me,
in addition to freedom from booze,
is the ability to take the "right action."
The Big Book says the promises will always materialize
if I work for them. . . By taking action
and working the Twelve Steps in all my affairs,
I'll have a life beyond my wildest dreams.

Thought to Ponder....

Never mistake motion for action.

I'm Ruth, an alcoholic.

After completing several Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Steps, and having made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God, I learned that I was still living in survival mode. Totally unaware that I hadn't completely given my will over to the care of God as I understood. I kept right on repeating the same old behaviors until Humility found me. What a rude awakening! I thought I had been completely honest! I was, but not rigorously, and I had to learn. Thank God for true Awareness and the ability to admit it. He has replaced it with Freedom! I am so happy to just be free of having to live in survival mode. My behaviors are now experiencing the Promises ... sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, but they will always materialize if I'm willing to work for them!
