12-Stepping

If you wonder where all the twelfth-stepping has gone,
you don't have to look farther than your friendly corner jail.
Suffering alcoholics are gathered there
like quail under a piece of brush in the rain --
waiting for you.
You don't have to go look for them.
You don't have to wait for that lonely call
at three in the morning.
Your jails are full of them, and they're waiting
for someone just like you;
and all they want is what you've found -- sobriety.
