My name is Vivian, and I am an alcoholic.

I am so blessed today and grateful for all my past experiences. Never in a million years did I ever think that these experiences would make me the woman that I am today ... a woman of dignity, a woman who can be trusted, and a woman who can love unconditionally. I do not come from this place; my normal state of being is as a thief, a liar and manipulator. Through AA, trusting my Higher Power, and believing all the women who have shared with me their stories of the miracle of change, I have changed. One day at a time, one moment at a time. I really understand that my God loves me and always wants the best for me. Life continues to happen, this roller coaster of lessons. I am present in my life today more than I have ever been, more honest than I have ever been and never have I felt more comfortable. I remember one of the first things I heard in the rooms of AA was a speaker talk about being comfortable in his own skin, which was one of the first things I could relate to, since I never was. Today I can say that most days I am enough. These blessings have been freely given to me. I have learned what I need to do to keep them. AA has given me a life beyond my wildest dreams and I know I am blessed.
