Healthy Choices

As an active alcoholic,
I was a pinball being bounced around by life,
circumstances, other people, and above all my addiction.
As a sober adult alcoholic, I've learned to make choices
that support who I am and my recovery.
I can go or stay away from any event
-- with family or friends --
and check in with a friend before or after any occasion
that I am nervous about.
I have learned to make healthy choices
and to change the things I can,
which also means accepting what I cannot.
