Loneliness

Life will take on new meaning.
To watch people recover, to see them help others,
to watch loneliness vanish,
to see a fellowship grow up about you,
to have a host of friends --
this is an experience you must not miss.
We know you will not want to miss it.
Frequent contact with newcomers and with each other
is the bright spot of our lives.

Hello, I'm Susie, an alcoholic.

I am not alone. I never was alone, for my Higher Power was always there beside me. It was I who did not recognize His presence when I was at my bottom. When I lay dying from this disease, He was always there, waiting for me to ask for help. Today, I have to be faithful to the help that was shown me. I have to pass that help to others, so that I might keep my sobriety. I must keep the gratitude flowing to show newcomers there is a life without the obsession of alcohol consuming every thought. I need to be humble and know that, but for the grace of God, I would still be in a miserable way of death. I pray that I can reach out to help someone and show they're not alone. Just for today, they do not have to have that drink. There is another way of life. May God bless you, as I have been blessed.
