No society of men and women
ever had a more urgent need for continuous effectiveness
and permanent unity.
We alcoholics see that we must work together
and hang together,
else most of us will finally die alone.
We need to share our problems to find our solutions.
T E A M = Together Everyone Achieves More.
Good morning! I'm an alcoholic, and my name is Mark S.
A couple of friends of mine were sitting down having coffee one evening before a meeting where my friend Omar M. was to speak. The conversation was about some fellow members who decided to go out and try it again, and we were perplexed as to why we had stayed sober while others hadn't. A very good friend sitting with us, Mike P., came up with this statement; "I'm sober because you guys need me and you're sober because I need you." Isn't that what it's all about ... needing each other to stay sober? Mike P. has passed away now. He died sober, but of complications due to his past drinking. I always end my talk with that story, and it makes me cry every time. I hope all that read this remember the people who have helped us stay sober.
