How wonderful is the feeling
that we do not have to be specially distinguished
among our fellows
to be useful and profoundly happy. . .
The proof that love freely given surely brings a full return,
the certainty that we are no longer alone
in self-constructed prisons . . . these are the permanent
and legitimate satisfactions of right living
for which no amount of pomp and circumstance,
no heap of material possessions,
could possibly be substitutes.
Happiness is part of the journey,
not some distant destination.

Hi, my name is Lou F., and I am an alcoholic.
What a gift sobriety has been! I am getting married this Saturday, May 29th. I have been with my bride-to-be for 12 years. AA and my Higher Power are truly doing for me what I could never do by myself. The meetings, the fellowship, and every other aspect of this wonderful program are an absolute miracle. Life happens. Some days, things don't work out my way. That's, OK, they always work out just the way they are supposed to ... if I just let them! God bless all of you and Alcoholics Anonymous.
Thanks for letting me share.
