AA Thought for the Day

Open Gates

The gift of sobriety doesn't come easily, as we all know.
Neither does the gift of heartfelt gratitude,
for the many things we have that matter the most to us.
Several years ago, I heard a speaker share something
that I think about often:
"When I joined AA," he said,
"I thought God would open up the gates of Heaven
and let me in. He didn't.
He opened up the gates of Hell and let me out."
That sums up many of the feelings I have for our
wonderful program.

Thought to Ponder....

The Program was a dazzling gem
