Today

Today is always here.
Life is daily; today is all we have;
and anybody can go one day without drinking.
First, we try living in the now just in order to stay sober --
and it works.
Once the idea has become a part of our thinking,
we find that living life in 24-hour segments is an effective
and satisfying way to handle many other matters as well.

Thought to Ponder....

Every day is a gift.
That is why we call it the present.

My name is Diana, and I'm an alcoholic.

It's about 5:45 in the morning. I am sitting in front of my computer and praying like I do every morning. "God, please let me be able to deal with my children in a good and happy manner." I do this because I have one child who is not a morning person, and he wakes up very grumpy. Before I came into this program I would go into his room tell him to get up, then get very angry when he didn't right away. I finally realized through this program that it's not in my time, but in God's, and that I have no control not only over alcohol but also over my children. God taught me a new way. He told me if I woke my son up happy, like singing to him, or tickling him, the results are so much better. Can you believe it this program not only taught me how not to drink one day at a time, but how to start my day off better, one day at a time?

Thanks for letting me share.
