AA Thought for the Day

Lessons

AA has taught me how to stay sober
and how to live well through working the Steps,
reading the Big Book, living by the slogans,
practicing the lessons of the Serenity Prayer,
and using the Fellowship.
I've learned a lot of things that are true for me
from the sharing at meetings. . .
My head is out to get me sometimes.
It has told me that I'm worthless, stupid, and a failure.
It has obsessed over lots of problems,
most of which never happened.
I'm aware of how my head works now
and tell it to shut up when it's ruining my serenity.
