Pain

Mental and emotional difficulties
are sometimes very hard to take while we are trying
to maintain sobriety.
Yet we do see, in the long run,
that transcendence over such problems
is the real test of the AA way of living.

I'm Willoe S., an alcoholic.

I wanted to share something with the others who read the Daily Thought. On August 12, my youngest daughter, Jean, was killed in a car accident. The pain is unbelievable. But I know that the grace of God and the members of AA who came to my home, who talked with the police, who spoke with the funeral director, who made the announcement at meetings, who hugged me, who prayed for me, who are still praying for me, have kept me sober throughout this difficult time. I am in my 26th year of sobriety and I am ever so grateful to this Fellowship.

Thank you for letting me share.
