I try for a full inventory of my blessings
and then for a right acceptance
of the many gifts that are mine --
both temporal and spiritual.
Here I try to achieve a state of joyful gratitude. . .
I try hard to hold fast to the truth
that a full and thankful heart
cannot entertain great conceits.
When brimming with gratitude,
one's heartbeat must surely result in outgoing love,
the finest emotion that we can ever know.

Just one day of sobriety is a blessing to be cherished.
B E S T = Been Enjoying Sobriety Today!
I'm Dave, I am an alcoholic.
My greatest blessing today? The forty-seven other alcoholics here tonight. Each and every one of you are a blessing to me. Even the ones I argue with and disagree with are still a blessing to me. Even the ones who take my inventory, and gossip about me are still a blessing to me. The ones who are farther along the path, who still continue to lead and guide me are a blessing to me. And those who are new and farther behind me, forcing me to show that AA works, in spite of myself sometimes are a blessing to me. I would not be sober today if it weren't for the other forty-seven alcoholics here tonight. Each and every one of you is a blessing to me, and I thank God that He has chosen to bring you here tonight to help me stay sober, and to show that God still runs the show, and that AA works!
