AA has taught me some powerful things:
I am an alcoholic, I have a Higher Power,
and I don't have to drink.
Whether I'm feeling elated, lonely, grief-stricken,
exuberant, or anything else,
I don't have to drink.
Day to day feelings and circumstances
come and go, but,
"Don't pick up that first drink and you won't get drunk"
is a constant.

I've only given up one drink ... the next one.
