AA Thought for the Day

Fourth Dimension

We saw that it really worked in others,
and we had come to believe in the hopelessness
and futility of life as we had been living it.
When, therefore, we were approached by those
in whom the problem had been solved,
there was nothing left for us but to pick up
the simple kit of spiritual tools laid at our feet.
We have found much of heaven
and we have been rocketed
into a fourth dimension of existence
of which we had not even dreamed.

Thought to Ponder....

The only limitations we have
are those we impose upon ourselves.

Hi, my name is Greg, and I'm an alcoholic.

The fourth dimension is not out in Space for this alcoholic. I'm grounded by AA meetings right here on earth. I've got a couple of years, by the grace of God, and it certainly has not had anything to do with me, except being honest most of the time, and when I'm not, I feel it. Open-minded, because it works, not because I understand it. I don't. Willing, because I learn from you people... the ones who are in, and unfortunately, even those who are not. I've had trouble accepting those that go back out, but something jumped out at me at a Big Book Meeting Monday night. It says those who cannot or will not give themselves to this simple program, it said, have a slim chance of recovery. I can accept that today, but I've had trouble with that concept. Once again, the Big Book speaks to me when I need it most. I thank God for AA and all of you today.
